Now in the latest update you can spoof in Pokemon go with out smali patcher or without downgrading your google play services. The google play service method only works for older android versions, but if you follow this video carefully you would be able to spoof in your rooted android 8 or 9 versions.

Again go to magisk manager then settings then tap on clear cache repo. Now go to magisk hide and hide pokemon go. Reboot your phone.
