Armored Mewtwo is finally returning to Pokémon GO, and tomorrow marks the third time this special Pokémon has ever been available in five-star raids!

Armored Mewtwo will be appearing in five-star raids during the Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale on Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM local time.

The regular Armored Mewtwo hundo CP is 1821. If you encounter a weather-boosted Armored Mewtwo in Windy weather, the hundo CP is 2276. If you are hunting for the perfect 100% IV Armored Mewtwo, these are the CP values you need to remember when catching your raid bosses.

Armored Mewtwo is a Psychic-type Pokémon, meaning it is weak to Ghost, Dark, and Bug-type attacks. Some of the strongest counters you can use against Armored Mewtwo include Dawn Wings Necrozma, Mega Mewtwo, and Mega Tyranitar. Building a strong team of Ghost, Dark, and Bug attackers will help you take down Armored Mewtwo more efficiently and give you more opportunities to catch one.

One of the biggest disappointments for collectors is that Shiny Armored Mewtwo will NOT be available during this event. Despite the long wait for Armored Mewtwo to return, Pokémon GO players will once again have to hunt for the regular version.

Armored Mewtwo was last available in Pokémon GO in 2020, making this return a huge opportunity for newer players and anyone who missed its previous appearance. This is only the third time Armored Mewtwo has ever returned to five-star raids in Pokémon GO, so trainers who want this unique Mewtwo form should make the most of the event.

Armored Mewtwo is based on the version of Mewtwo featured in Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back – Evolution. Its distinctive armor makes it one of the most recognisable and collectible versions of Mewtwo in Pokémon GO.
